Reporting in the first instance to the Store Manager and working as a part of an enthusiastic team. The role of a Sales Assistant is to achieve maximum sales through the delivery of high-quality customer service and outstanding product knowledge.

The Sales Assistant is responsible for all aspects of general shop maintenance and stock merchandising while promoting and enhancing the positive image and corporate values of Incu.

Must be available from Tuesday–Saturday during our trading hours.

Role Overview:

As an Assistant Manager at Incu, you will play a crucial supporting role in the daily operations of the store, working closely with the Store Manager to inspire and lead the team. Your leadership will ensure that your team delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining high standards of stock integrity, visual merchandising, and store presentation. You will help drive sales, meet targets, manage wages, and contribute to a positive and motivated work environment. Your support in training and developing team members will contribute to the store’s overall success and alignment with Incu’s company values.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Assist in leading the team to provide outstanding customer experiences, ensuring every customer feels valued and engaged.

Sales Targets: Support the Store Manager in driving store performance by achieving sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Stock Integrity: Help oversee inventory accuracy, stockroom organization, online fulfillment, and timely stock replenishment.

Loss Prevention: Assist in implementing and monitoring security protocols to reduce stock loss and maintain a safe environment.

Wage Management: Aid in managing wage costs and scheduling to ensure staffing levels align with budget and store needs.

Visual Merchandising: Ensure that the store's visual presentation is on-brand and in line with company guidelines.

Leadership: Support and mentor the team, fostering a positive, motivated, and collaborative work environment.

Training & Development: Assist in championing team growth through ongoing training, development, and performance coaching.

Staff Meetings & Training: Actively participate in staff meetings, training nights, and product knowledge sessions.

Operational Efficiency: Help ensure smooth daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and store maintenance.

Health & Safety Compliance: Assist in overseeing adherence to health, safety, and legal regulations within the store.

Customer Feedback: Monitor customer feedback and support resolving issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Product Knowledge: Stay updated on product trends, brand collections, and industry developments to share with the team and enhance the customer experience.

Essential Capacities:

Due to the duties associated with the position, the following physical and psychological capacities are considered an essential requirement in order to perform the duties associated with the position safely:

  • Repetitive bending, squatting and kneeling.
  • Bi-lateral lifting of at least 20kg.
  • Use an industrial ladder of approximately 1.8 metres.
  • Capability to manage personal stress effectively, ensuring continued focus and performance even during peak times.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive, and safe work environment where team members feel comfortable expressing themselves, sharing ideas, and addressing concerns without fear of judgment or retaliation.
